Duration

1 day.

The EWPA Yellow Card course will train you to be a safe EWP operator. There’s a mix of training room and practical activities which will be assessed on the same day.

Why do this EWP Yellow Card course?

Successful completion of this EWP Yellow Card course will allow you to operate the classes of EWP that are listed on your Yellow Card at workplaces throughout Australia.

Whilst there is no “Licence” required to operate most types of EWP, employers and principal contractors must be able to show written proof that operators have been trained in the safe use of any EWP that they operate (WHS Act 2011). The EWPA “Yellow Card” is accepted Australia wide as valid, sufficient proof of training to meet an employer’s duty of care.

Please note: This Yellow Card” does not allow you to legally operate a Boom Type EWP with a height or reach capacity of 11 metres + in any State of Australia.  You must be the holder of a “WP” class High Risk Work Licence to legally operate a Boom Lift 11m+.

How much does it cost?

The cost of this EWP Yellow Card course includes your enrolment, all course materials, and successful applicants will be issued a plastic photo ID Yellow Card*.

Use the COURSE ENQUIRY form for information on current pricing and group training rates.

*If required a Statement of Attainment from the EWPA at extra cost via a simple RPL process. Contact us for details.

Restricted Yellow Card to people under 18 years old

• The minimum age to obtain a Yellow Card is 16 years (subject to each state regulatory body).

• Applicants under 18 years of age will have a Restricted Yellow Card issued, marked with an ‘R’. The restriction will only allow the Operator to operate an EWP under direct supervision of an Unrestricted (over 18) Yellow Card holder of the same EWP class.

• When an operator turns 18 they will be issued with an Unrestricted Yellow Card.

• If the operator’s postal address details change between obtaining the Restricted Yellow Card and turning 18 they will need to contact the EWPA prior to turning 18.
